In November 2022, the Office of the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator of Rizal, Laguna tapped the UPLB-BIDANI for the revitalization of the Barangay Management Information System in their municipality. Hence in December of 2022, the UPLB-BIDANI trained the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) secretaries, Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), and other members of the Barangay Management Information System (BMIS) team of Rizal, Laguna in data collection using the BMIS family data sheet. After the training, the BMIS team started the census in their respective barangays.
Following-up on their previous activity, last February 27-28, 2023, UPLB BIDANI provided another refresher capacity strengthening activity on data encoding using the BIDANI BMIS software at the ABC Hall, Municipality of Rizal, Laguna. The activity was participated by all BLGU secretaries and their encoders. Through the training, the participants were reviewed on the interface of the BMIS software; its forms including its navigation keys and command buttons. The participants were also taught how to validate the encoded data, and how to generate reports and tables which they can use in their development planning.
The UPLB BIDANI team, headed by the current officer-in-charge of BMIS – Arnold Abuyog together with BIDA Coordinator Ana Castañeda, Network SUC Coordinator Pamela Gonzales, PNEA Coordinator Belinda Lalap, and DevCom Operations Coordinator King Niño Manzano, served as the trainings’ resources persons. The capacity strengthening activities were part of the LGU Rizal and UPLB BIDANI’s effort in sustaining the implementation of BIDANI and its innovative strategies particularly BMIS in the LGU. The LGU is a catchment municipality of UPLB-BIDANI since 1996.
