BMIS is one of the innovative components of BIDANI, which aims to help planning bodies of local government units (LGUs) to collect, organize and generate data through the BMIS software. The software was designed to provide the LGUs with minimum data needs on socio-economic, health, environment and agriculture. It facilitates the identification of household and barangay needs for nutrition and development planning as well as project implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

The BMIS Project facilitated the establishment of barangay databases and generation of barangay profile and nutrition profile. It has been used by the Barangay Development Councils (BDCs) in preparing evidence-based plans such as the Barangay Integrated Development Plan (BIDP) and Barangay Nutrition Action Plan (BNAP), and in implementing appropriate projects.

As of March 2019, the project is being implemented in 37 barangays of the Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija, where CLSU’s main campus is located.
